T20 is the shortest and most dynamic form of cricket because of how thrilling, exciting, and entertaining it is for cricket fans all across the globe. In this format, a team gets 20 overs to score as many runs as possible against their opponents, who will then have to chase that total. The T20 World Cup is an international cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council. The competition has witnessed just a handful of huge totals. Although teams have been able to cross the 200 runs a bunch of times, the 250 runs mark has been crossed only once. This ordeal was achieved by none other than Sri Lanka in the very first edition of the competition back in the year 2007 against Kenya. They are the team with the most runs in the t20 world cup. The team with the second highest t20 score is England when they chased South Africa whereas the team with the third highest runs in t20 is South Africa which set the target for England. India is the fourth t20 highest score team and South Africa takes the fifth spot for a second time.

Conclusion
On a final note, it may not seem easy for a team to beat the record set by Sri Lanka for the highest score in World Cup but it is very possible. This is because there have been other teams in various competitions to have scored more than the 260 runs made by Sri Lanka. Afghanistan is the t20 highest score team along with the Czech Republic with an astounding score of 278 runs. India has also reached the 260-run mark against Sri Lanka in 2017 but hasn’t managed to do so in the t20 world cup.
Nobody has scored more runs than Rohit Sharma in t20Is. He has a massive total of 3620 runs to his name in the 135 matches that he has played which include 28 half centuries and 4 centuries. Whereas Aaron Finch’s 172 against Zimbabwe is the highest score in t20Is.
Chris Gayle’s unstoppable knock of 175 runs off just 66 balls in the IPL is still the highest score by an individual in T20 Cricket history. He thrashed the ball for a series of thirteen 4s and seventeen 6s. It may take a while for someone to score the most runs in t20 world cup and beat Sri Lanka’s record, but it will come very soon.
